Sustainability
As a forward-thinking establishment, Goshen understands the importance of the world around us and how interconnected it is. For this reason, we employ several strategic measures to ensure the long-term sustainability of the environment.
Our Sustainable Approach
Sustainability is embedded in everything we do — from the way we irrigate our fields to how we engage local communities. Every initiative aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
We employ cultivation practices like crop rotation to safeguard the soil and replenish essential minerals depleted by continuous farming of the same crops.
We avoid farming practices such as bush burning, which degrade soil composition and deplete essential minerals. By doing so, we preserve soil health, reduce our carbon footprint, and maintain air quality, thereby safeguarding the environment.
We minimize the use of potentially harmful pesticides and fertilizers, closely monitoring soil toxicity to prevent adverse effects on the soil, as well as to protect the diverse animal and plant life within and surrounding it. This ensures we produce crops that are safer for consumers, workers, and neighbouring communities.
At Goshen, we employ center-pivot irrigation systems for our grains and drip irrigation for our tree crops. These systems efficiently distribute water, minimise wastage, and prevent soil erosion, thereby reducing carbon emissions and promoting long-term environmental stewardship in agriculture.
Our 2025 – 2030 Goals
